PROFESSIONAL SEMINAR – Fire Protection in Timber High-Rise Construction
Planning principles and solutions for selected connections details

The steadily growing share of timber construction presents a significant challenge for planners and executors in the construction industry due to new materials, their combinations, and processing technologies. In particular, the topic of fire protection as well as its planning and implementation with numerous stakeholders, increasing requirements, applicable regulations, numerous technical possibilities, and also manufacturer-specific products is a complex and extensive task with far-reaching consequences in case of incorrect application.
There are still reservations about wood and fire, which is why fire protection in timber construction is a widely and controversially discussed topic. Although wood is a combustible building material, its load-bearing capacity is given over a certain period and thus calculable. On the other hand, there are often uncertainties in the detailed execution and installation of fire protection products, both for planners and executors.
In mineral-based solid construction, various solutions have long been approved, tested in practice, and in use. For use in timber construction, many of these fire protection products still lack approval. Therefore, it is necessary to address deviations from legal requirements and pursue solution approaches.
With the newly developed specialist seminar “FIRE PROTECTION IN TIMBER HIGH-RISE CONSTRUCTION – Planning Basics and Solutions for Selected Connections and Details”, we aim to provide a detailed overview of the current normative foundations and guidelines on the topic of fire protection and specifically address execution variants of various detail solutions in timber construction. The seminar will be practically supplemented by manufacturer-specific visual material on selected issues and detail formations as well as extensive seminar materials in electronic printed form.

therefore invites you together with KOPPELHUBER² and Partner ZT OG to the Austria-wide seminar series 2025.
